JOB SUMMARY
The International Digital Art Director will create a high quality, on-brand shopping experience for the Tory Burch customer in our international markets, with an emphasis on APAC. In this role you will develop and scale new online experiences with a focus on mobile for our key marketing messages and help to build and grow our digital presence in our international markets. You will oversee a consistent design aesthetic between our domestic and international emails and online marketing. You will partner with teams to create a consistent message with our retail stores. You will manage the workflow of designers and production artists.
The design must inspire and inform the customer as well as the internal team. It will also communicate the inspiration behind the brand, seasonal collections, and trends. In this role you will help us elegantly marry content and commerce.
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES
SEASONAL REFRESHES
Maintain seasonal refreshes of our international websites and oversee delivery of assets
Be a brand ambassador to ensure exceptional design standards
Push creative forward and develop new shopping experiences online (with an emphasis on T-Mall, WeChat and APAC territories)
Partner to curate assets and content for seasonal shops based on trends, themes, styling and occasions
EMAIL & DIGITAL MARKETING
Design email marketing and explore new templates and typography each season in partnership with the US team
Ensure consistent creative through the line across digital channels
Research current trends and creative in digital marketing, with emphasis on mobile
Collaborate with in-house animator to create gifs
Align with US team to ensure consistency across email creative
COMMUNICATION/COLLABORATION
Collaborate with in-house animator to develop and create engaging and on-brand animation and video for WeChat
Work with international teams and outside agency to concept and design layouts and posts for our APAC social channels (WeChat, Red, Weibo, LINE)
Collaborate with copy team and art directors to concept seasonal messages
Participate in design reviews and be aware of feedback across the design team
Present work on behalf of the international team to Senior Directors, VPs, and the creative director for approval
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Create immersive shopping experiences for our key seasonal messages
Research and help develop innovative digital marketing campaigns
Design assets and creative for interactive games to promote pop-ups in our APAC regions in partnership with in-house animator
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Help create, maintain, and adhere to digital design guidelines
Conduct competitive research on luxury brands in APAC (WeChat and T-Mall) and share out with the team
EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Bachelor’s Degree (Graphic Design or similar preferred) or commiserate work experience
Mac O/S
6-7 years professional experience (E-commerce and/or Retail preferred)
Expert knowledge of Adobe CS: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and working experience with Sketch, InVision and Keynote
International marketing, and shopping in luxury space
After Effects or motion graphics knowledge preferred
UX design knowledge a plus
Photo retouching and color correction
Clean design aesthetic
Deep understanding of the category and passion for style, fashion, and culture
Online fluency (websites, blogs, desktop to mobile) and the curiosity to learn more
Knowledge of trends and best practices in the design landscape
Strong communication skills and collaborative personality
Highly organized, with meticulous attention to details and deadlines
Ability to multi-task, adapt and change course easily
Flexibility to balance editorial and business needs
Self-motivated, resourceful and works with a positive attitude
