JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Designer, Handbags is responsible for collaborating with the Senior Designer and peers in the creative process, development, and maintenance of handbag designs from concept through production. The ideal candidate must be passionate about the product and have an elevated aesthetic to match the Tory Burch brand.
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES
Help to create seasonal design boards and keep them up to date
Update sketches and boards as the development progresses
Collect, track and ensure all information is compiled and easily accessible related to each style
Sketch real size sketches and details construction by using illustrator for tech packs
Color cads using Photoshop and Illustrator
Assist in showroom samples alterations
Take notes on updates to design/sketch during meetings
Organize and prepare samples and protos for review

Bring creative ideas to the table and properly translate them into an aesthetic that clearly reflects and elevates the Tory Burch brand.

Adhere to seasonal and time and action calendars, ensuring that category meets deadlines.
EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Bachelor’s Degree in Accessories Design or related area and/or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 2 years handbag design experience working for a luxury retailer
Must provide digital portfolio of work
High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and Microsoft office
Strong hand and Illustrator sketching & specing experience
Must be able to build all tech packs and pass specs in a detailed, organized and clear manner for factory proto sample making
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
Previous experience in PLM is a plus
