  • JOB SUMMARY

    The Senior Manager, Merchandising, Jewelry oversees the merchandising function by developing high-level product and business strategies focused on how profitability, product positioning and forecasted growth will continue to build the brand identity. In addition this role will be responsible for ensuring the development, execution and communication of the category strategies will meet or exceed financial goals in all channels. This role will oversee one direct report and successfully create and develop partnerships with cross-functional partners including design, production, planning and channels.


     

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Merchandising

    • Drive the global product strategy, brief seasonal assortments that reflect the brand point of view, identify and capitalize on white space in the market and address global nuances.

    • Understand the competitive landscape (both the contemporary and luxury market) and create and filter trends through the brand lens to leverage within assortment opportunities.

    • Utilize strong analytical skills to identify business opportunities and inform future assortment strategies.

    • Partner with cross-functional teams including design, product development and production to help drive the product creation calendar, development targets, costing milestones and IMU targets.

    • Build cohesive and emotional assortments which represent balanced product architectures aligned with KPI targets for silhouette penetration, AUR and price bucket analysis.

    • Experience with managing promotional strategies in partnership with regional teams.

    Financial

    • Partner with the VP, Merchandising to create annual development budget based on historical performance and line plan initiatives. Monitor seasonally to deliver on target results.

    Cross-functional Partnership

    • Manage and support strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization. Unify teams and provide a strategic/trusted voice dedicated toward driving the category product strategy.

    • Partner with cross-category merchants to support cohesive seasonal assortments.

    Leadership

    • Mange one direct report. Monitor performance and provide development/mentorship to fuel career growth and retention.

    EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field of study

    • Minimum 8 years of merchandising experience

    • Past experience in jewelry preferred

    • Strong analytical skills paired with strategic business acumen and application

    • Strong fashion sensibility with knowledge of the contemporary space

    • Detail-oriented, results-driven, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial

    • Ability to negotiate with and influence peers, members of a cross-functional team and senior management.

    • Executive presence and acumen, ability to formally present product presentations and assortments globally to a wide audience.
