JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Trim, Hardware & Embellishment Materials Development is responsible for the development of trends, themes, concepts, techniques and materials from proto stage to salesman samples (SMS) for the Ready to Wear division.
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for trim, hardware & embellishment design support and execution from concept to pass off to materials sourcing team for bulk.
Responsible for calendar adherence throughout the entire process.
Point of contact internally and externally to execute all sampling and development (proto to sms to special projects, pr, etc) and to assist in Tory presentations.
Lead for trim and HW development options and communication, including finishes, lead times, costs and testing options.
Work with material partners to offer embellishment options for layout, size, cost, testing, applications and alternative material options.
Work closely with PD / Materials partners on allocation to appropriate suppliers.
Work closely with in-house atelier for correct trim availability.
Partner with VP, PD/Production on sustainability goals and maintain sustainability progress.
Manage and develop assistant and PLM needs.
Organize and keep current the internal trim and hardware library and archive.
Travel for sourcing, development and execution may be required.

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 5 years of relevant development experience within trim or hardware in luxury apparel preferred
Strong computer knowledge including Rhino, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel.
Strong sense of style, conceptual, color and taste level; jewelry and/or sculpture experience a plus
Thorough knowledge of technical trim & hardware design development techniques and commercialization
Global viewpoint, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability a must
Strong communication and collaboration with cross functional partners required; ability and influence to drive change
