The Associate Designer of Men’s provides creative and practical support to the Design Director through all aspects of the product life cycle, from initial concept to final pre-production prototypes. You will begin to design Men's apparel in every category independently in line with the direction provided by the Design Director. You are proficient in following design directions in a timely manner and will build an understanding of each product and how it performs. You are a collaborative team member, working closely with Merchandising, Product Development, and Technical Design. You are open to feedback from peers and leaders and take action on the feedback. You will play a key supporting role in line with the overall product strategy. You will report to the Design Director.
Your day-to-day:
Conduct seasonal research including inspirational trips based on direction provided by Design Director
Sketch and present designs on a seasonal basis
Translate all sketches in Adobe AI for the Men's Department
Assist in the creation of technical packages
Support the preparation of presentations for milestone meetings
Track and catalog fabric, trim and wash development
Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Design, Production, R+D, Merchandising
Attend weekly fittings and own all follow up actions
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and 3 + years of relevant industry experience, ideally in Men's apparel
Obsession for design, culture, and trend and ability to leverage to inspire designs
Elevated taste level and keen eye for color and detail
Passion for building knowledge in sustainability and fabric innovations
Excellent communication skills, collaborative attitude, and strong desire to learn
Highly organized and detail oriented
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop); competency with A.I. sketching an advantage
