Reporting to the Director of Consumer Communications, you will join a (growing) 15+ strong team of ambitious communications and social professionals who are passionate about telling the Stitch Fix story internally, externally, and through social and influencer communications. Our goal is to engage, educate and inspire all of our audiences around Stitch Fix’s vision for a future of retail that is more personal.
Externally facing teams drive the delivery of our communications strategy and narratives through media relationships, at events and on our owned channels, while aligning with partners in strategy, marketing, merchandising, product, algorithms and engineering to share the depth and breadth of stories which make Stitch Fix unique. Internally, we work across the business to create effective, authentic and relevant communications that support our employees and bring our culture to life.
About the Role
As the Manager of Consumer Communications, you will be responsible for creating and supporting Stitch Fix’s external consumer communications efforts.
In partnership with the Director, you will set the strategy for consumer communications, aligning with business goals and partnering closely with our marketing, strategy, and merchandising leadership. You will work with our agency partners to drive executions that have measured impact. You will use your excellent media connections and communications skills to help tell the story of Stitch Fix, from our effortless and unique shopping experience to our merchandise-focused launches.
You will help to manage Stitch Fix’s consumer agency in New York, relative to your areas of focus, ensuring they have the focus and assets they need to be successful. You will be responsible for building key relationships with internal cross-functional partners to establish a consistent flow of communication and processes, in order to secure all necessary information and assets to support consumer pr efforts.
Lastly, you will help to define what the Stitch Fix Communications Team is known for and you will be part of creating a high-performing team that empowers, supports and develops each other.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
Build & maintain media relationships -- you will bring your excellent media relationships, network of key influencers and knowledge of events landscape to Stitch Fix. In partnership with the Director and relevant partners on the communications team, you will build, maintain, and enhance Stitch Fix's direct relationships with media across consumer media.
Drive awareness and understanding of expanded vision for how consumers can interact with Stitch Fix -- you will ideate, help set the communications strategy for, and drive the execution for innovations and initiatives related to our stylists.
Oversee communications strategy for newer lines of business -- serve as main contact for internal cross-functional partners and agency support for our newer lines of business. Own creating the strategy, crafting messaging, identifying media targets, and preparing all briefing materials/documents. You will work directly with cross-functional partners across Merch and Marketing to gather insights and understand priorities to develop compelling campaigns, storytelling angles and always-on drumbeat strategy to support Stitch Fix narrative in consumer outlets.
Drive our external consumer communications strategy around our sustainability efforts & social impact - you will work in partnership with the Director and directly with co-workers on the communications team and cross-functional partners to gather insights and understand business priorities to develop compelling consumer-facing storytelling angles around our social impact and sustainability efforts.
We’re excited about you because…
You have a breadth of experience--you have 7+ years of experience in the consumer communications field, ideally focused on fashion/retail or beauty, with at least 1-2 years in manager role.

You understand the necessary assets and key messages to do so. You are an excellent communicator across internal and external audiences and understand the importance of a strong narrative that is consistent across channels.
You’re a self starter -- you are used to working in a fast-paced environment and are able to thrive in ambiguity and pave a path forward. You are adaptable and flexible and take a proactive approach to your work, with minimum oversight or guidance. You have an excellent work ethic and perform well under pressure.
You have a strong network -- you have demonstrated success in using your own network to drive coverage. You are comfortable being an advocate for a brand with media, influencers and event organizers. You have a strong understanding of how the industry is changing and can adapt a communications strategy to reflect that.
You’re a collaborator -- you work well with others, possessing empathy and valuing their input. You’re comfortable managing up and partnering cross-functionally to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Finally, you have a curiosity about the industry and the way Stitch Fix is shaping the future of retail, and are excited to take on new challenges.
