Sr. Manager Licensing
Work closely with the Licensing team, licensees, and cross-functional partners to support the management of Eyewear and Watch categories. With the goal to build brand connectivity as well as financial contribution. Partnership with licensees to ensure consistent execution of brand and category strategies across commercial channel geographies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Balanced responsibilities across merchandising, business development and commercial results, and partnership management
Key interface with licensees on general management across commercial and creative topics
Category leadership / general management across internal teams, to include Design, Merchandising, Buying, Marketing/PR, Finance, Legal, Logistics/Distribution
Product/Creative:
Work with founder, design and merchandising executives, and licensees to inform TB product strategy that supports brand/product positioning, category and commercial goals
Closely partner with Brand merchandising leadership team to integrate licensed categories into framework through co-creation of Merch Strategy (line architecture, line-planning, brand codes, pillar structure, pricing structure) that supports TB creative initiatives and supports commercial objectives
Own the PD process seasonal plans and commercial needs, development meetings, direction and approvals.
Partner on outlining assortment guidelines, key must buy's, and assortment reviews across critical channels of business
Partner with Merch leadership to create marketing and window look priorities as well as key features across DTC and wholesale channels
Commercial:
Maximize demand across DTC and RBS channels through influence and productivity metrics; engage with international country partners
Work with VP and licensee to develop the commercial strategies (distribution, footprint, marketing features, assortments, regional priorities)
With support from Licensing Sr. Associate:
Oversee operational support to domestic and international DTC
Monitor assortment presentations and messaging across channels
Collaborate with licensees and TB teams to create robust training and sales development tools
Research and handle new acct requests
Interface with TB divisional and licensee marketing. Marketing communication to/from licensees in partnership with marketing/PR to support product priorities
Develop brand kits and brand reports
Sales/Reporting/Marketing:
Deep understanding of overall business – performance, product/style, accounts, regions
Identify challenges and opportunities based on sales results and competitive landscape.
Monitor adherence to and timely submissions of contractual obligations (i.e. financial statements, sales/royalty/A&P requirements, fcst targets, caps)
Oversee sr. associate and collaborate with finance partners to summarize findings/changes and review with VP to ensure goals are on target (examples: Sales to budget/fcst, Sales reporting, Royalty statements, Projections, Marketing spend, OP sales, year end report summaries)
Assist with creating presentations and preparation of licensee sales information for executive and partner meetings
Administrative:
Coordination of meetings and schedules as needed
Monitor maintenance of department records (i.e. financial, distribution, communications)
Assist with meeting preparation and other projects as needs arise
Contribute to category information; trade articles and highlight potential impact/opps, trends.
Gain knowledge of product style data creation process and various internal systems to understand the process and impact
Work with cross-functional partners and on special projects as needed (i.e. retail training, market coordination, category launches).
EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or requisite experience
8+ years of experience in licensing and accessory merchandising, commercial and brand development
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to interface with and influence all levels of management
Excellent product sensibility and fashion/accessory market awareness
Creative with an eye for trend and innovation
Ability to project manage with multiple cross functional partners
Business and sales analytical skills
Self-starter - strong sense of urgency and initiative
Ability to multi task in fast environment
Diplomacy and sensitivity in communications
Strong Power Point, Excel, Word skills
