Position Overview
We are looking for a Content Manager to help us create and execute content across all channels, telling cohesive, cross-platform stories, developing franchises that feel uniquely Birchbox, and more. Collaborating with Marketing and Merchandising stakeholders, the Content Manager will bring our service and products to life, helping retain and acquire subscribers and drive traffic and purchases across platforms.
With a constant pulse on beauty casual, our Content & Creative team is focused on creative collaboration and capturing the stories and voices of the Birchbox community, including our customers, brand partners, and influencers. This position reports to the Director of Content and Creative.
We’re looking for someone passionate about beauty through our lens, inspired by great storytelling, and motivated by conversion.
**Our office is based out of New York, NY. Due to COVID, our team is working remotely until further notice.**
Responsibilities
Share in creation and execution of content with other Content and Marketing stakeholders to ensure the media mix is robust, storyline is cohesive, and attention is given to every aspect of our community
Create original content (editorial, video, GIF, still imagery) to promote the visibility and voice of the beauty casual community while inspiring and growing brand affinity and conversion
Work with the Merchandising team to support new launches and brand partners by creating content that is engaging and relevant to our community
Repackage content for alternate platforms where appropriate, including shaping storytelling and visuals for specific channels
Help shape our digital media strategy by identifying content opportunities based on emerging trends, likeminded creators, and brands across all industries
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of content campaigns in driving traffic, conversions, and engagement
Contribute site content for The Mag and help coordinate and publish freelance contributions
Supervise Senior Associate, Social Community in day-to-day community management and content creation
Uphold Birchbox values through all communication
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant education/experience
3-5 years relevant experience in editorial, social media, or a relevant content creation role. A plus for startup experience.
Experience producing content and creative assets on your own. A big plus for photoshop, in design, and video editing skills
Experience coordinating with merchants and creative teams to execute social, site, and/or email content
A successful candidate…
Has expert editorial writing skills, with an instinct for storytelling and narrative
Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
Is comfortable presenting to groups and executive teams
