Position Overview
The Director, Content & Creative will drive strategy and day-to-day execution of Birchbox content in order to build brand affinity by representing our unique beauty perspective, create engaging social experiences that delight our community, drive qualified organic and paid social traffic to Birchbox.com, and deliver on acquisition and shop revenue targets for the brand via content engagement. This role will report the President and lead a team of creatives, content and community managers.
Our office is based out of New York, NY. Due to COVID, our team is working remotely until further notice.
Responsibilities
Lead & develop the best: Manage the creative, content, social & community teams that support the entire subscription and e-commerce experience by coaching best practices and developing leaders within the team.
Set a vision: Build the content & creative vision and create a roadmap that defines brand voice, storytelling, esthetic and the manner in which we engage the consumer via all channels. Drive repeated customer engagement that builds our community based on Birchbox’s position as the destination for the casual beauty and grooming consumer.
Obsess over customers: Use all customer touch points to gain insights and knowledge of Birchbox’s consumer. Increase NPS by grounding decisions in knowledge obtained about the beauty industry and the overall consumer market space through data and surveys.
Manage and grow the Birchbox community: Oversee community management, ambassador programs and additional community building concepts while facilitating a consumer-centric approach to enhance engagement, drive acquisition, improve retention and grow shop sales.
Drive engagement & traffic: Spark repeated organic engagement that decreases the cost of customer acquisition through the creation of educational, useful, valuable and fun content that helps new and existing customers understand Birchbox’s brand positioning, products, and services.
Project management & fiscal accountability: Set P&L for content and creative costs intended to drive traffic and engagement goals. Project manage your team and cross teams to deliver on timelines, budgets and total company OKRs.
Excellent cross-functional relationships and deep insight of the business: Key partnership with all teams who work on customer engagement touch points to ensure experience vision consistency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
6+ years relevant experience in social / content / copy / creative / community channels
Experience managing and leading teams of content creators, copy writers, and designers. A big plus for start up experience.
Expert editorial writing skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups and executive teams
