• JOB SUMMARY

  The Associate Designer, working on Core and Commercial Fashion will be responsible for collaborating with the Senior Designer, Senior Design Director and peers in the creative process, development, and maintenance of footwear designs from concept through production. The candidate must be organized, detail oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities. They must be passionate about product and have an elevated aesthetic to match the Tory Burch Brand.

  JOB DESCRIPTION

  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Design team in the creation of elevated footwear across all categories.

  • Help create seasonal design boards and keep them up to date

  • Update sketches and boards as the development progresses

  • Collect, track and ensure all information is compiled and easily accessible related to each style

  • Must be able to both hand sketch and create technical drawings by illustrator for tech packs.

  • Create thorough tech packs with sketches, complete construction details, and provide mock-ups if needed

  • Create and execute color cads using Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Prep samples and proto for review

  • Compile trend research and suggest designs in line with trends and Tory Burch brand

  • Participate in fit sessions

  • Bring creative ideas to the table and properly translate them into an aesthetic that clearly reflects and elevates the Tory Burch brand.

  EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of footwear design experience

  • High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and Microsoft office

  • Strong hand and Illustrator sketching & spec’ing experience

  • Must be able to build all tech packs and pass specs in a detailed, organized and clear manner for factory proto sample making

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

  • Must provide digital portfolio of work
