Visual Merchandising

Who You Are:

Michael Kors is looking for a creative & strategic Divisional Vice President of Global Visual Merchandising. You will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and execution of global strategies for all Michael Kors Lifestyle and Outlet stores globally. This individual will partner with the executive team to finalize concepts & designs and ensure the successful rollout of visual merchandising concepts to maximize sales.


What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop a global visual merchandising strategy, combining both strategic and creative aspects to maximize sales 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners including Global Creative, Marketing, E-Commerce, Merchandising and Store Design in order to ensure that customers have an elevated customer experience at Michael Kors.

  • Ensure that all styles & visuals align with the visual strategy and creative direction.

  • Partner with the Design teams to understand New Store Opening schedules and delegate responsibilities to support business expansion and store renovations.

  • Coach, train & develop members of the VM Dept to effectively support the company’s ongoing vision & responsibilities.

  • Enhance standard practices for Visual Merchandising regarding new store openings, special events and seasonal implementations, and ongoing visual merchandising directives 

  • Ensure that the Visual Styling/Graphics functions understand the company’s vision by brand and can capture/communicate the visual direction down to the store level.

  • Oversee the concept & development of product knowledge, ensuring clarity for all parties; Direct revisions as needed. 

  • Oversees the budgeting and sourcing all visual elements and materials. 

  • Oversee and review merchandising training for store staff, which is conducted by Corporate VM Training & Development team. 

  • Support, train and develop all regions and store visual merchandising teams. 

You’ll Need to Have: 

  • Bachelors’ degree in Fashion, Merchandising, Design or similar field 

  • 15+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising in a global fashion retail environment; fast-fashion background is highly preferred 

  • 10+ years of experience leading and developing teams.

We’d Love to See:

  • Exceptional communication and leadership acumen. 

  • Previous experience should reflect increasing responsibility over time in a multi-store environment

  • Exceptional merchandising skills and a strong understanding of fashion trends in all markets 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite. 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite preferred.  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to describe merchandising in a clear and concise manner 

  • Ability to collaborate with domestic and international divisions.

  • Have excellent taste level in speaking to many facets including merchandising, styling, fixture design, store layout and directives

  • Desire/ability to travel.
