W magazine is seeking a Designer to join its Art department. The ideal candidate has a creative mindset, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The applicant will work across all platforms of the W brand, including print, digital, social media, and video.

Responsibilities

    • Print and layout design

    • Establishing and implementing best practices for design on W's site and social media

    • Contributing art concepts in meetings with editors and the Art department

    • Conceptualizing design ideas, including photography and illustration approaches

    • Creating visual solutions for articles, including collages and photo illustrations

    • Video title design and minimal motion graphics

Requirements

    • 2+ years of experience in design with a strong portfolio of work

    • Strong typography skills and an understanding of graphic concepts

    • Creative problem solving and idea generation

    • The ability to collaborate actively as part of a mulitplatform team

    • Flexible and able to manage multiple projects and assignments, while working quickly and within tight deadlines

    • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills

    • Experience with high-end photography and design a plus

    • An interest in or passion for art, fashion, design, and contemporary culture is ideal

    • Expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and some knowledge of Figma

    • Knowledge of digital design language and the ability to communicate with product developers

    • A grasp of the latest trends in editorial design across multiple platforms
