W Magazine is seeking a Visuals Editor to join the Visuals & Content team. The ideal candidate will have strong production, communication, and organizational skills and a vast knowledge of fashion and photography to fully execute all aspects of a shoot. The role will oversee print, digital and video content across both print and digital channels. A broad-ranging understanding of culture, fashion, photography, and entertainment is key to this role.

Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with W’s Visuals & Content Director and Design Director on maintaining W’s vision across all photo and video shoots

    • Produce print well shoots, feature shoots, digital shoots, and video shoots

    • Communicate with talent reps and casting director for all shoots

    • Manage all post-production timelines, approvals, and deliverables

    • Negotiate with all vendors and photographers / videographers to adhere to shoot budgets

    • Pitch and commission new photography & video talent

    • Work closely with visual, digital, and social teams to coordinate story releases

    • Liaise with the Accounting and Rights/Permissions departments for payment and contracts

    • Reports to Visuals & Content Director

Requirements

    • 3-5 years of content production experience with strong understanding of editorial photo and video shoots

    • Has strong production skills, organization, and wide variety of industry contacts

    • Able to manage several projects simultaneously with various lead times

    • Understands visual trends in photography, fashion and video

    • Has a strong grasp of what’s new, what’s trending, and how it relates to W's brand narrative
