JOB SUMMARY
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with Design and Material Sourcing from Concept thru bulk for on-brand and on-trend raw materials.
Development
Work in close partnership with Design, PD and Merchandising to ensure materials hit target price, testing responsibilities and appropriate lead-times.
Work with the Material Sourcing team through development and PO for proto and SMS.
Responsible for assisting with fabric updates and calendar deadlines during development, sampling and market.
Assist to maintain and issue all approved fabric standards.
Assist to maintain accurate status reports for all materials in development and approval stages.
Organize material binders and the material library.
Direct the compilation and review of all data sheets (LDS, FDS) for accuracy, quality, affordability, and compliance prior to issuance.
Maintain development tracking and adoption records.
Maintain records (swatches should be with Merch) of SMS / bulk liabilities and work closely with PD and Merchandising to find ways to liquidate.
Partner with Material Sourcing for KPIs and T2 scorecards.
Partner with Design and Material Sourcing to continue to strategically partner with core mills and to reduce the T2 base.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate and contribute in meetings as related to products.
Act as a resource when collaborating on materials and/or colors with other product categories.
EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
BS/BA/BFA degree.
Minimum of one year in textile sourcing and development.
Strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong math and negotiation skills.
Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment.
Ability to travel as needed.
Strong and thorough communication skills.
