ASSOCIATE MERCHANDISER, WHOLESALE - TOMMY HILFIGER

The Associate Merchandiser will be the liaison between the North America wholesale division and the Global TH divisions to provide market specific expertise and dedication on all aspects of seasonal line development – pre/ during/ post season.  They will share North America regional needs with Global TH divisions and propose line assortments for the North America markets in order to strategically support global distribution and grow in North America.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-hand knowledge at the SKU-level of Global TH collections, seasonal strategies and key initiatives for the North America market to capitalize on and drive the business

  • Participate in all milestone meetings throughout seasonal calendar cycle as the voice for the North America market, ensuring NA is taken into consideration with decision making that impacts global distribution

  • Create market-specific range plans taking into account North America market and account-specific needs; facilitate NA exclusives where necessary

  • Partner with Global TH divisions to share North America regional strategies and validate market requests against overarching business direction

  • Deliver in season support & visibility: sketches, assortment plans, sales memo’s, chase buys, early buys

  • Analyze historical data and feedback from the North America market to best service each account’s needs

  • Standardize reporting across accounts to analyze best/ worst sellers across and share information internally

  • Plan, organize and direct set-up of seasonal showrooms for NA Markets; partner with Sales to lead account walk-throughs during market appointments to present and explain the collections; creating market-wide understanding on strategy and product level

  • Partner with Sales to ensure buying process is seamless

  • Liaison with NA and Global marketing for necessary collateral and marketing plans to support product initiatives and share with Sales and North America market

  • Update Global TH divisions on NA current market trends – what’s selling by department (i.e., decrease in fitted woven shirts)

  • Share consumer insight/ market analytics with Global TH divisions

  • Provide full year & seasonal view of penetration shifts by division – areas of grow, maintain, decline

Qualifications:

  • College degree

  • 3-5 years of merchandising experience, preferably with international exposure

  • Ability to multi task in fast paced environment

  • Highly organized & possess excellent analytical acumen

  • Articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Very detail oriented

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Knowledge of global retail landscapes

  • Strong computer skills – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe. Must learn internal systems both current and future systems

  • Proactive

  • Able to be key decision maker for North America Market Tier 1 product needs

  • Provide solutions and recommendations as business challenges arise

  • Continually evaluate methods/ procedures of Tier 1 merchandising to enhance service to our customers

  • Digitally savvy; explore internal & external digital tools which could benefit North America markets

  • Ability to find answers through alternate means when not provided directly

  • Be a trusted member of the Merchandising team and the go-to person for their business

  • Willing to take on other merchandising responsibilities not directly outlined here

  • Highly collaborative, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to travel internationally 25% of the year, if needed
