Senior Accountant

  • JOB SUMMARY

    The Senior Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and verifying financial information, performing bank reconciliations, reconciling general ledger accounts and performing month-end close activities for the parent company. This position will identify and recommend effective solutions towards process improvements. This position will partner with accounting colleagues who manage corporate accounting, international accounting, and external auditors. The Senior Accountant will be a vital part of the Controller’s group and gain exposure to all parts of the company’s accounting processes.


     

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare bank reconciliations and handle all facets of cash and credit card transactions for multiple banks and bank accounts

    • Assist with month end close process - accruals, reconciliations, reporting, account review and analysis (such as prepaids, accruals, SG&A)

    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and reporting deadlines

    • Perform accounting reconciliations and balance sheet and P&L trend analysis

    • Prepare schedules for external auditors in connection with audits.

    • Provide support to various departments to ensure all activity is recorded in the general ledger in a timely basis

    • SOX compliance and general understanding

    EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

    • Degree in Accounting and 4-6 years related experience within the accounting field

    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls

    • Experience with ERP – SAP preferred

    • Ability to understand systematic processes

    • Advanced proficiency is use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

    • Strong aptitude to understand accounting systems and how to extract and reconcile information

    • High level of attention to detail required in managing analytical tasks
