  • JOB SUMMARY

    This role is accountable for leading the organization through defining, developing, and managing the current and future state enterprise architecture. The Senior Director will define the business, technology, and platform architectures that will be used for strategic planning, managing the technology landscape, and defining enterprise-wide transformation. This leader will be responsible for executing the “acceleration through architecture” strategy that promotes quality and velocity across the enterprise.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Enterprise Architecture Strategy

    • Accountable for leading, developing and managing the delivery of the enterprise capability and domain models, the enterprise architecture principles, as well as the engineering standards and design principles across all engineering teams, current and target state enterprise architectures, and roadmaps. This role will also develop and manage a view of the progression to target state architecture.

    Enterprise Platform Architecture

    • Accountable for defining the architectures, design patterns, engineering standards, best practices of platforms that are shared across the enterprise. The responsibility also includes the ongoing evolution of the platform architecture and features based on utilization and the introduction of new business strategies and use cases. This resource works across the Infrastructure and Security teams to influence and align on the architecture and roadmap.

    Technology Standards & Design Patterns

    • Accountable for defining and managing the technology standards for the organization. This role will be responsible for managing the inventory of technology & engineering standards, the development of technology reference architectures, and roadmaps. This role will lead and participate in technology evaluations and proof-of-concepts. This resource will also be accountable for the development design patterns, best practices, and technology upskilling across product teams.

    Architecture Governance

    • Accountable for defining and executing architecture processes such as the Strategic Technology Board, Design reviews, Technical Debt registration, Design Pattern approvals and reporting. This role defines and manages the decision register, the Enterprise Architecture repository and Architecture templates.

    EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

    • 12+ years of progressive leadership in solutions, data, or technical architecture

    • Five year’s recent experience in developing and leveraging current and emerging technologies across IT platforms.

    • Experience defining and co-creating business, technology, and platform architectures, standards, and governance process.

    • Direct management of cross functional, sourced, or matrixed teams

    • Proven ability to influence and gain organization adoption of strategies and architectures.

    • Undergraduate/graduate degree (e.g. Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences)

    • Applications development experience

    • Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale initiatives/transformations across enterprise platforms

    • Proven executive experience in IT development across waterfall and agile environments

    • Experience with and significant knowledge of IT outsourcing activities in a managed services environment

    • Proven knowledge of all aspects of the IT functional areas

    • Strong negotiation, influencing and problem resolution skills

    • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

    • Experience in business systems and process planning

    • Knowledge of business environment, service requirements and culture

    • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action

    • Deep understanding of IT financial structures and ability to manage to corporate financial practices and goals - including drivers of process costs

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms

    • Team-oriented, collaborative leadership skills, and client service oriented

    • Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls and monitoring processes
