POSITION TITLE: Senior Copywriter
REPORTING TO: SVP Brand Marketing
OVERVIEW: HATCH is an innovative maternity brand of thoughtfully designed solutions in apparel and mama-safe skincare for before, during and after pregnancy.
HATCH is seeking a creative, motivated, and strategic Copywriter to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about building brands as this person will play a pivotal role in brand positioning, narrative and storytelling. S/he will be responsible for writing witty, conversational copy that is also clear, accurate, and data-driven.
The role of Copywriter at HATCH requires a fast-paced, creative, dynamic communicator who can think big picture about positioning a rapidly growing brand but who also understands the fundamentals of results-driven copywriting; who possesses the ability to motivate and speak to our customer in a brand-right way; and who can think strategically while maintaining close attention to detail across channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Work closely and collaboratively with Marketing and Creative to drive brand positioning, narrative and storytelling across channels
● Hone and elevate HATCH’s unmistakable copy – clear, compelling, and original – while delivering on product and brand goals
● Seek to develop and maintain a deep understanding of our customers to develop copy that is inspiring and educational, as well as data-driven and conversion-oriented ● Create original, clear, innovative, compelling copy that strategically delivers for both digital and physical channels to promote marketing programs, seasonal campaigns, key launches, partnerships and product stories across channels including: site, emails, advertising, social, printed collateral, store marketing, packaging
● Develop copy the is channel right, designed to optimize conversation and consumer experience for where the copy lives
● Write and edit site copy including product copy for web; create keyword-rich content, tag lines and product descriptions to engage customers and optimize for SEO. Work closely with E-Commerce team to ensure all copy deadlines are met for publishing new product to the website
● Write and edit compelling marketing emails + SMS, including subject lines, with the goal of maximizing open rate, click-through rate and conversion
● Write and edit printed collateral material, including direct mailing campaigns and retail store signage

REQUIREMENTS:
● 5+ years of professional copywriting experience at a major retailer or publication required
● Proven brand marketing and direct-to-consumer copywriting experience, preferably in the retail apparel, fashion, beauty and/or luxury industries preferred
● A creative mind who can lead brainstorms and create strong engaging content across all channels
● Experience and understanding of SEO driven copy work
● Proven ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment, juggling numerous projects at once, and proactively source the relevant information from key stakeholders ● Comfortable and confident working creatively and collaboratively with various team members across the business
● Strong, professional and effective verbal communication skills
● Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
● Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced environment ● Keeps up to date with popular culture and trends, including street style and runway (pregnancy-related knowledge a plus!)
