PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT

 

MAIN PURPOSE

Supports North America Public Relations team to ensure a strong and impactful Cartier presence across all earned media touchpoints and e-influencer relations and provides fundamental support in executing brand image & product public relations strategies.

The PR Assistant, reporting to the Public Relations Assistant Manager, will play a key role within the PR team and will be responsible for managing product, facilitating photoshoots and product requests, partnering with press, editors and stylists, along with supporting image events and gifting initiatives. The PR Assistant will become a reliable and supportive member of the team, helping the PR team succeed in all its activities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Management & Editorial Support:

  • Product trafficking and management of PR stock for all collections (jewelry, watches, accessories, art of living, etc.) and internal reporting tools.

  • Execute SAP processes, logistics and shipments for both editorial & e-influencer pulls; collaborate with the Celebrity team to maximize usage; partner with Richemont Logistics team to complete all necessary processes; ensure inventory is returned and reconciled in systems.

  • Carries out inventory with Richemont Logistics and regular partnership with Merchandising, Marketing & HQ to build out PR stock.

  • Updating look books based on availability, new launches, boutique transfers, and more – should be updated regularly to ensure accuracy and reflect strategic collections.

  • Lead and point-of-contact for International photoshoots and liaise with all parties (HQ, markets worldwide, editorial contacts, security) to execute qualitative International shoots in the US.

  • Assist with fashion week appointment preparation (including scheduling, treatment reservations & bookings, run of show, small-scale treatments, drafting copy, look books, pricing lists, providing press assets, capturing treatment coverage, recaps, and more).

  • Perform general administrative duties including maintaining organized press library, archiving, scanning, packaging, gift wrapping, etc.

Reporting & HQ Updates:

  • Handles editorial credit requests across all categories and maintaining credit tracker.

  • Carryout all aspects of press clippings for editorial coverage across print, digital and social, including ensuring that all magazines and newspapers are properly tagged, clipped and managed through an online and in-person database.

  • Compiles daily press coverage clips for real time news sent weekly, manage weekly commercial communique highlights, monthly HQ best coverage reports and initiative-based highlight reports (i.e. awards season or event).

  • Create, update, and maintain press, e-influencer, and industry contacts database, ensuring accurate records for internal reporting tools.

  • Maintain master editorial tracking document, including all press requests, pitching, anticipated editorial, secured editorial and missed opportunities.

  • Update HQ MS Team platform and ensure all documents are up to date surrounding coverage, strategies, PR stock, etc.

  • Compile monthly DMR evaluation report to submit to DMR & HQ in tracking results YOY.

  • Report on competitor activity and initiatives, as well as relevant industry trends, key industry events, projects, collaborations, and e-influencer initiatives.

  • Creates meeting minutes and agenda for HQ calls; generates calendar alerts for all HQ info. and deadlines pertaining to events, experiences, appts, shoots, etc.

  • Maintain and save well-organized database of HQ assets, press texts and brand communication tools across all categories including but not limited to press kits, images, preview boxes, information notes, etc.

  • Updates managers with important daily media alerts with highlights and notes.

Fragrance & Celebrity PR Support:

  • Assist with executive interview prep, agency management, recording meeting minutes, liaising between NA marketing & PR, DMR checks, sample trafficking to agency, etc.

  • Support with updating releases, press lists, coverage for celebrity newsletter, dressing blasts, re-active credit checks, and more.

Department Liaison & Admin Support:

  • Key point of contact for internal departments and creating presentations to illustrate department initiatives (Seasonal Occasions, Watches & Wonders, 360 Product News, etc.)

  • Saves & maintains all NA internal materials for NA PR team reference.

  • Organizes all shipping including local messengers; ensures that shipments executed at a high standard and paperwork is prepared correctly.

  • Tracking shipments to monitor progress of packages and escalates any issues.

  • Enters coverage for treatment reports and support with yearly holiday gifting program.

  • Creates calendar alerts for all NA cross-departmental deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Public Relations, Marketing or Communications)

  • 1-2 years experience in Public Relations, preferably in luxury fashion

Technical Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Outlook, Adobe, etc.

  • Knowledge of media tracking services such as DMR, Cision, Launchmetrics and more is preferred.

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Strong knowledge of the luxury and fashion industry is preferred

  • Enthusiastic self-starter and detail-oriented with the capacity to engage and communcicate effectively at all levels

  • Adapts quickly to change and last-minute requests as needed

  • Ability to demonstrate tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature

  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and follow-through

  • Excels in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
